PARISH COUNCIL SERVICES

Murton Parish Council offer a range of services to the public and are responsible for the following:

>    Murton Parish Cemetery and Burials

 

>    Murton Welfare Park

 

>    Playgrounds

 

>    The Village Green

 

>    The General Environment of The Village

 

Murton Parish Council own the buildings and land comprising the Glebe Centre, which offers conference, meeting, IT training, catering and social event requirements to the public, but the day to day management and running of the centre is undertaken by Murton Welfare Association (Registered Charity).

Murton Parish Council was established by the Local Government Act 1894, and held its first ever Meeting in a classroom at Murton Colliery School, on Tuesday 4th December 1894.
