Keeping our local allotments clean, tidy with appropriate health & safety regulations in place.
Murton Welfare Park comprises 2 football fields, cricket pitch, bowling green, allotment site and 20 acres of open parkland . . .
Murton has numerous playgrounds, one of which is located in the grounds at The Glebe Centre.
The proud home of our war memorial statue and village Christmas tree every December.
Keeping the streets of Murton clean and litter free as well as the upkeep of colourful planters throughout Murton.
THE GLEBE CENTRE
Murton Parish Council own the buildings and land comprising the Glebe Centre, which offers conference, meeting, IT training, catering and social event requirements to the public, but the day to day management and running of the centre is undertaken by Murton Welfare Association (Registered Charity).
Murton Parish Council was established by the Local Government Act 1894, and held its first ever Meeting in a classroom at Murton Colliery School, on Tuesday 4th December 1894.
